Osaka University, Japan, developed the SDF

According to JADS magazine, SDF was developed in Japan in the 1960s by Osaka University to act as an antimicrobial agent and reduce tooth sensitivity.

Throughout history, silver has been recognized for its antimicrobial power. In 1969, in Japan, the use of Silver Diamino Fluoride (SDF) was first reported. Currently, there has been a resurgence in the use of this medicine for cavities.
